A well established SEMH setting is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible. The school which is located in North Bradford and accommodates for pupils aged 7-16 with Social Emotional, Mental Health and Behavioural Difficulties who struggle to access mainstream education. Pupils may also have a statement of Special Educational Needs. This is a full-time role to work with a student on a one-to-one basis, both with their learning and their social/emotional needs. Working one-to-one with a vulnerable student is very rewarding. Watching your student grow and reach their goals with your help is very fulfilling. The successful applicant will have a patient and caring disposition, with the ability to quickly build meaningful relationships with students and their staff team.

The role will include:

* Supporting the student with their educational needs in class, as well as with their social/emotional needs throughout the day
* Manage behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy
* Work proactively with other team members including the class teacher, other teaching assistants, and support staff
* Ensure the safeguarding of students


* Experience of working with young people with SEMH needs or vulnerable young people
* Be comfortable in managing challenging behaviour and confidence in your ability to control the behaviour to the best of your ability
* Ability to engage with, and build rapport with young people
* Be creative, proactive and flexible in their supporting style
* To be able to provide a nurturing and caring connection with the vulnerable student
