If you enjoy working with Children in a Social Work role, overcoming challenges and helping children and families reach their full potential, don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity. Working with a local authority in the Channel Islands, we are looking for experienced Social Workers with a background within Children's services to work in the Safeguarding teams in the area. You will be working alongside a supportive team to improve the outcomes for children and young people within the area by listening to the voice of the child, young person and their families, understanding their needs and working together to agree how these needs will be met with the right help and support. This role does not fall in IR35 so is a fantastic opportunity for any Social Workers who love to travel.

Responsibilities-



*

Court Work, looked after children reviews, Safeguarding, children in need meetings and complex strategy meetings as required. To provide specialist consultation and quality assurance


* Contacting or visiting people who require assessments or reviews either for their current services or because of safeguarding issues


* Senior Practitioner supporting the Social workers within the team and To be responsible for the decision making of the team and at conferences and reviews ensuring that there is a framework for reviewing compliance with the plans made
*

To challenge service decisions where necessary to fulfil an agreed care plan and to use statutory powers to escalate to senior management and external bodies where appropriate


*

To develop, maintain and comply with efficient and effective systems to ensure compliance with procedures and recording systems


*

To bring those meetings to a close summarising the position reached and making any decision clearly, and requesting all actions from professionals as appropriate.
