Are you an experienced Social Worker within Children's Social Services, passionate about ensuring the families you work with receive the help they need? If so, Stockton Borough Council are looking for a Social Worker to cover the Adoption team in the Stockton area. The contract is initially 3 months however, may be extended.

You will be working within a supportive team with a committed leadership team which is focused on improving the outcomes of children and families across Stockton.

This is a full time role working 5 days per week which includes the possibility of flexible working.

The successful candidate can expect an attractive pay rate of £145-£192 per day.

As a Social Worker on the Adoption team you will be responsible for:



* Carrying a complex caseload and maintaining accurate, up to date files
* Facilitating the adoption of local children who are in the care of the government.
* Supporting the birth and adoptive family through the adoption process
* Work with birth families and establish their level of involvement in the process
* Assist with home visits, background checks and parent counselling
* Carrying out assessments of the needs of the adoptive child
* Report writing
* Liaising with other professional bodies where appropriate
* Assist with any training required for prospective adopters
* Participate in planning meetings and reviews where children are placed prior to formal adoption.
* Setting high standards is key and must deliver excellent practice, motivating all staff to do the same.

The minimum requirements for this role are:

-HCPC Qualification

-Social Work Qualification

-Relevant Social Work experience within Children's services

-Valid DBS check (this will be applied for you if not)
