Duties & ResponsibilitiesTake responsibility for the supply, storage, stock and administration of medications in accordance with the policy of the Service.Take part in the education and training of staff members in responsible and safe medication management and carry out practical assessments of their competence in their area of work.Formulate and implement programmes designed for the needs of the individual, in cooperation with the multidisciplinary team as required.Induct Support and Supervise and direct the work of other staff including support workers as required.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills, Knowledge and AttributesRegistered in the general division of the Register of Nurses maintained by NMBI.Have at least 1 years recent relevant post-registration nursing experience .RNID qualification is desirable.Manual Irish driving licence is an essential requirement.The ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms, to communicate appropriately with the people we support and sensitively with family members.Creative problem solving skills.Patience, flexibility, creativity and eagerness to become involved in a range of activities.Ability to educate other staff and family members in positive health promotion needs.
