Strategic Project Manager - Highways Capital Programme

*£350 per day* *East London*

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Strategic Project Manager - Highways Capital Programme based in a Local Authority in East London.


Post: Strategic Project Manager - Highways Capital Programme

Rate: £350 per day

3-6 month contract ongoing

We are looking for an experienced Strategic Project Manager - Highways Capital Programme to review and redesign existing systems, processes and procedures for monitoring and managing the effective delivery of the Council's Highways and Traffic Management Capital and Revenue funded projects, schemes and programmes.


The main duties of the role are as followings;



* Support the Head of Service and Group/Team Managers and be responsible for Capital Programme Management for projects, schemes and programmes under the remit of the highways and traffic management service, including providing project data information such as programme milestones, financial data, risks and issues to the Capital Programme and reporting these to senior managers, project officers, and project and programme governance boards.
* Manage successful delivery to time and budget of the Capital Programmes, which incorporate multi-million pound funding streams, senior level governance arrangements; complex inter-dependent project plans, including providing support on financial and procurement matters.
* Put in place processes and procedures in relation to the management of the Capital Programme delivery that ensures the continual development and embedding of a performance culture throughout the Service through capital programme monitoring meetings, one to ones and sharing good practice.
* Ensure delivery to time and budget of successful outcomes on the Council's key priority highways and traffic management projects, schemes and programmes.

Requirements



* Degree qualified in relevant field.
* Substantial experience of delivering successful outcomes in construction and capital project management, in particular in the field of highways and traffic management.
