Are you looking for a rewarding role in HE providing support to students with disabilities which allows you to fit around your current commitments?

Randstad Student & Worker Support are looking for reliable and committed Study Assistants to work with students at University for Creative Arts - Farnham Campus.

As a student support worker you will carry out various activities where a mix of enabling strategies and practical assistance is required. We are looking for study assistants who can commit to 9.00-4.00 hours Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Full availability on these days is not essential but desirable

Responsibilities:

Providing Study Assistant support to students suffering from disabilities/mental health conditions your responsibilities will include:



* Assisting the student to adapt to the academic demands of HE
* To maintain a professional role as a support worker and be aware of the need to maintain this professional relationship with the student at all times
* To act in the best interests of learners at all times whilst also working within the policies and procedures of the institution
* Providing practical support in the library, laboratory or workshop/studio etc.
* Reading aloud
* Scribing
* Text checking (pointing out errors but not providing corrections)
* Assisting with time keeping and organisational skills
* Role may include providing practical and mobility support to assist a student with a physical impairment in manoeuvring around the campus

You will work closely with Randstad regarding the needs of individual students, and to ensure that any concerns are addressed in a timely manner. You will be expected to act professionally and maintain confidentiality within your role at all times, sharing all relevant information with Randstad to ensure the best possible service to your students.

Requirements:



* Punctuality and reliability
* Good listening and communication skills
* Ideal candidate will be compassionate and committed to helping others
* You will need to be able to work quickly and under time restrictions
* Good organisational skills
* Ideally you will have experience in working in a higher or further education role
* A background in art studies is desirable, but not essential
