A very well established company in Ystrad Mynach are looking for a Supply Chain/ Operations Manager to manage all operational elements from Production to Dispatch.

Benefits include:

The purpose of the role:

* To devise and implement the strategy for management of all operational areas to ensure the company has the capability required to deliver business plans, profitably and to meet and exceed regulatory, customer and other stakeholder requirements.
* Guide and support the recruitment, performance improvement and career development of the Production, Transport and Warehouse teams, including maximising efficiencies to prevent over-staffing.
* Daily execution of best in class customer service levels and stock level accuracy, high quality on time in full delivery and optimal management of human and financial resources.

You will manage:

* Distribution Centre Team Leader and Operatives
* Workshop Supervisor and Operatives
* Delivery Drivers
* Temporary or Agency Staff


* Determine and communicate agreed targets for People (safety, absence, engagement), Business Process (order fill rate, forecast accuracy, waste management), Financial and other metrics. Monitor and achieve these targets.
* Leverage available resources and set the benchmark for operational management, planning and execution using Lean, 'right first time' approaches to eliminate waste and failure.
* Constantly review external trends and identify internal opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Monitor, control and report on stock levels, trends and shortages. Maintain reliable and accurate stock figures at all times.
* Align development plans for supervisors to the strategic plan to create structure, accountability, responsibility and focus.
* Promote and support tight integration between Customer Service, Production, Warehousing and Logistics and other operations areas and optimize performance in schedule attainment, adherence and on time delivery.
* Facilitate Information System strategy and development for implementation and use of Warehouse Management

Ensure distribution warehouse is organised, equipped, stocked and staffed properly in line with future requirements for volume, handling, storage, shipping and value-added service.


Ensure appropriate process controls and documentation is in place.


Perform all company business in accordance with regulations, company policies and procedures and demonstrate high ethical and professional standards with business contacts in order to maintain excellent reputations within the business community.


Implement and monitor excellence in Health & Safety management, including regular auditing and reporting to H&S Manager. Maintenance of a safe, secure and compliant workplace and environment.


Systems, Enterprise Resource Planning, Forecasting and Transportation Management.

Essential Skills:

* Confident, articulate and able to influence at all levels with exceptional leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong working knowledge of operations management principles, ERP, WMS, transport routing software and Lean implementation.
* Senior level operations and logistics experience with a track record of operational service level and efficiency improvement.
* Proven ability to manage effectively and within budgetary constraints across functional areas.
* Strong analytical skills and excellent judgement.
* Understands market dynamics as well as the legal and regulatory landscape.
