Supply English Teacher for September start

Is English language your passion?

A teacher with a flair for the English language is being sought after to teach at an alternative provision school. The school's vision is to assist every student reach their true potential and to encourage students to overcome challenges that could stop someone from achieving.

You would be part of a dedicated team who truly believe in every student that walks through the door to pursue their educational dreams. You would be making the difference which would enable a student to return to mainstream education. You would be teaching English to a given curriculum for Key stage 3 and 4 (year 10 and 11), where the focus will be to engage learners in the subject and to help the students with the understanding of the English language.

Your responsibilities will include:
* Preparation work
* Setting and marking work
* Liaising with the teaching assistant within the class
* Liaising with relevant departments regarding the learner's progression
* Reporting to head of department
* Creating an inclusive environment

An ideal candidate would possess the following capabilities and competencies:
* Qualified Teaching Status (QTS)
* Knowledge and understanding of the English curriculum for Key Stages 3 and 4
* Have an enthusiasm for the subject and be able to deliver this to a variety of different and unique learners
* Building a rapport with the students and maintaining a positive working relationship
* A clear understanding of SEND, emotional, social and behavioural difficulties and mental health
* Breaking down the barriers that could stop a student from reaching their potential
* Creating a positive and encouraging environment for learning to take place
