job description

We are currently recruiting a number of full time residential support workers to work with vulnerable adults with learning disabilities, mental health and autism in the Manchester Area. These services have been specifically designed and built to provide the highest standards of care and well being to older adults who need support with day to day living.

As a residential support worker, your role will be to enable the service users to live as independent and fulfilling lives as possible. You will be required to assist service users with day to day living and promote independence where applicable. If you are passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of others I think you will find this role extremely rewarding.

Your responsibilities will also include:



* Supporting the service users with Morning/ Evening routines and ensuring privacy and dignity are respected at all times.



* Supporting service users with different levels of personal care.



* Providing and assisting with access to the community for activities and daily living skills



* Supporting service users to develop daily living skills. This can include everything from encouraging them to write a shopping list to preparing a Sunday lunch. Activities should be made fun and engaging.



* Being able to work flexibly, not only to regards to rota patterns but also the ways in which you support the service users.



* Promote independence through the prompting of medication where appropriate and administering medication if required
