The Role:
You'll be working within our Tailored Localised Care Team, providing essential support to young people who require a safe and nurturing environment. This involves:
- Keeping young people safe and engaging them in independent living skills.
- Facilitating access to community activities and appointments.
- Collaborating with other social care professionals.
- Supporting young people facing challenges such as severe mental health issues, self-harm, challenging behaviors, learning disabilities, offending behaviors, and those on Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLs) Orders.
What We're Looking For:
We need passionate individuals who demonstrate:
- Experience: Proven experience supporting children and young people in a residential setting.
- De-escalation Skills: Confidence in using de-escalation techniques to manage heightened behaviors calmly.
- Decision-Making: The ability to make prompt decisions and take action in challenging situations.
- Record Keeping: An understanding of detailed and accurate daily record keeping and incident reporting.
- Creativity & Trust Building: A creative approach to engaging and establishing trust with children and young people.
- Key Personality Traits:
- Calmness during crisis situations (aggression, self-harm, destructive behaviors).
- Confidence in your experience to support daily decision-making.
- Understanding of how trauma, previous experiences, and diagnoses impact behavior.
- Non-judgmental attitude, keeping an open mind even in challenging situations.
- Resilience to continue supporting through stressful situations and to keep trying new ways to engage.
- Observant nature, with the ability to share insights through reports and meetings.
Rates of Pay (PAYE):
- Days - £18.00 p/h
- Waking Night - £20.00 p/h
- Sleep in - £13.69 p/h

What We Need From You:

- A driver's license (with business insurance) is highly desired.
- Reliable, resilient, and observant nature.
- Commitment to provide continuous support.
- Ability to provide accurate reporting information while on shift.
