Are you looking for a healthcare role in the Southampton area? You are in luck, as we are currently recruiting for experienced support workers asap!

This is a specialist hospital providing secure services for patients with mental illnesses and/or personality disorders, including both medium and low secure care environments.

We are looking for Healthcare Assistants to work long day and night shifts, with the flexibility to work weekends. The pay starts from £8.50p/hour.

Successful candidates will have to attend PMVA training (prevention and management of violence and aggression) as the client's expertise enables them to support patients with a high level of risk and challenging behaviours.

Potential shift patterns include: Day: 8am -20.30 Night: 20.00-8:30

* Make sure all communication is within the boundaries of client confidentiality, and to seek guidance when unsure
* Promote Service User involvement in all aspects of their care

* Ensure that any information related to the client or other personal safety is communicated immediately to senior team members
* Provide social activities, emotional support and stability to clients to ensure effective engagement whilst maintaining professional boundaries

The requirements:

* Demonstrates a positive attitude towards mental health
* Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills
* Effective pro-active communication skills
* Has attained any restraint training (i.e. CAMHS, MAPA, MAYBO, Pro Act Scrip, SSTS)
