Systems Integration Engineer required on a contract basis to join an industry leading automotive engineering business.

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity at the forefront of engineering technology? Do you have a background in the design and development of advanced engineering components and systems? Have you got a experience of working in a fast paced manufacturing / R&D environment? If you are seeking an exciting technical challenge then this is the contract role for you!

You will be required to integrate customer, proprietary and bespoke electrical systems and components to achieve vehicle targets. This will involve working closely with a range of customers from SMB's to major OEM's to interpret their requirements and deliver engineered solutions within weight, cost and timing targets.

Key responsibilities:



* Through appropriately considered and documented processes, development of system architecture proposals and definitions
* Analysis and specification of system requirements including the communication, functional and physical elements of the system.
* Management of suppliers delivering components or system to a project.
* Supervision and development of junior team members.
* Assist with the build and fault-finding of projects
* Design and development of electrical and electronic systems for vehicle programme applications.
* Generate system architecture diagrams and circuit drawings to support electrical design activity.
* Consider the use of alternative materials and technologies in pursuit of the optimal design for cost, weight and performance.
* Undertake hazard analysis, risk management and DFMEA for components and systems as required.
* Define and execute system test and validation activities.
* Support virtual and physical builds for components and vehicles.
* Preparation and presentation of reports for internal and external audiences.
* Support technical and project reviews with the customer, representing the company, as required.
* Maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers and all other departments
* Understand and work to Company, Customer, Industry and Legislative standards.

Experience required:



* Recent experience and proven track record in electrical integration within the automotive or autospor industries.
* Working knowledge of Vector tools including CANalyser
* The ability to work flexibly to strict deadlines
* Experience of Electric Vehicles - HV charging, HV battery and HV powertrain systems
* Degree in relevant engineering discipline or in job experience
* Team player with a thirst for learning
* A 'can do' attitude
* A drive for success
