What are we looking for?

Stanley Primary School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Level 2 Additional Support Needs Assistant to work in Year 1 with a pupil with autism.

Hours of work will be 25 per week between 9.00 am to 3.00 pm, Monday to Friday.
This role is to start ASAP and is initially a temporary post to 19th July, 2019.

The successful candidate will be required to work on a one-to-one basis, providing support through an individual EHC Plan. You may also be required to support in class, working with individuals and groups of pupils.

Proven skills in literacy, numeracy and science at a KS2 level are desirable.

Teaching Assistant.
To work with teachers as part of a professional team to support teaching and learning for SEN pupils. Providing learning support to pupils who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning, such as those with moderate, severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties and/or behavioural, social, communication, sensory or physical disabilities.

What you need

* Level 2 qualification or equivalent in supporting teaching and learning on the Qualification and Credit Framework
* Recent, successful experience for the post
* Excellent communication skills
* Experience of supporting children with challenging behaviour
