A specialised school near Berkeley are looking for an engaging and positive Teaching Assistant to work with students aged 6-25. The students you will be working with have a variety of learning difficulties including autism, epilepsy, EBD and neurological conditions. This school prides itself on promoting the independence of their students through the use of sensory learning and therapeutic techniques. In this role you will be supporting the students on a 1:1, small group and whole class basis. This role is a fabulous opportunity for you to share your passion for learning with children with varying needs, no day will ever be the same and by building positive relationships you will be able to make a difference to the lives and education of these children. This role is needed on a full time, permanent basis (term time only) starting ASAP.

Your responsibilities will include:
-Assisting students during class by tracking their progress
-Liaising with class teacher to lessons run smoothly
-Enabling learners to access the curriculum
-Supporting the pastoral needs of the learners
-Being an active part in creating a positive learning environment
-Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and part of a small group in a range of activities throughout the day
-Using your interests to engage learners in learning
-Supporting with the students personal care
Key skills and experience needed:
-Experience working with people with special needs
-The ability to work with learners that have various learning difficulties including epilepsy, EBD and autism
-A willingness to learn and build relationships with learners
-The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team.
-GCSE maths and English or equivalent
-Own means of transport
