Are you an experienced teaching assistant?
Have you been thinking about changing settings?
Have you been working with special needs children?

A school in the Brighton area is looking for a teaching assistant who has previous experience working with either children or/and adults who have various special needs. Your role will be to support and guide students through their school day and enable them to overcome any obstacles they may come across by being tolerant, supportive and compassionate but at the same time able to deal with challenging behaviour positively and effectively.

Your role will require:
* An understanding of each students' health plan
* Liaise with teacher to ensure all learners are supported
* Engage with the learners to keep them on task
* Assist during break duty, outings and class activities
* Deliver 1:1 or small group focused lessons when required

The skills required:
* Good Maths and English skills
* Previous experience working with challenging behaviour is essential. (child or/and adults)
* Patience and flexibility to deal with changes that may present themselves due to the nature of the learners
* Ability to look after children's physical, social and emotional welfare
