A lovely expanding school near the Crawley area is looking for a long term teaching assistant to start with their support team within the next 2 weeks.
You will be working with students who have emotional and behavioural difficulties helping them to access the curriculum and express their emotions effectively. The school supports children aged 6-16 years with communication difficulties typically associated with Asperger's Syndrome and Autism.

Your role will require:
Liaise with teacher to ensure all learners are supported
Engage with the learners to keep them on task
Enable learners to attain skills to develop their independence
Deliver 1:1 or small group focused lessons when required

The skills required:
A*-C in Maths and English is essential
Previous experience working with Autistic learners is essential
Patience and flexibility to deal with changes
Ability to look after student's physical, social and emotional welfare
