Ready for a new start? Are you a Teaching Assistant with experience in Key Stage 1 on a 1-1 basis with autism? Brilliant! We would love to hear from you today.

A Primary School in the Leeds area is looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about working with interactive and engaging children who can utilise and stretch their skill set. This role in particular is supporting a Key Stage 1 pupil who has Autism and does require personal care. The school is based Inner City of Leeds and is Ofsted rated GOOD.

Key Responsibilities Include:



* Deliver tailored teaching activities to the pupil on either a one-to-one basis or in a small group.
* Make sure that the pupil that you are supporting is able to engage in learning and stay on task during the lesson or activity.
* Support the social and emotional development of pupil, reporting any issues as necessary.
* Guide and monitor the pupil's progress.
* Carry out administrative duties such as preparing classroom resource.
* Provide support outside of your normal classes, such as helping during exams, covering TA absences or going on school trips.
* Undertake personal care tasks where required to do so.
* Co-ordinate specific areas of teaching support once you have the right level of experience.
* Provide pivotal support to the teacher and other support staff.
* Ensure a safe and healthy place of learning for the children.
* Offer an approachable and helpful hand to the teacher with extra duties which they may need some assistance with.

The successful candidate will need to have:



* Experience working with Autistic children is essential
* Experience working 1:1 is advantageous
* A vibrant and organised approach to work
* experience in a child based setting previously - ideally Key Stage 1 in a Primary School
* Can communicate effectively with both children and carers / parents
* Will prove to be an honest and reliable worker.
