We are working with a number of schools in the Halton area who are looking to recruit Level 2 and Level 3 Teaching Assistants. The role of a Teaching Assistant is varied and challenging but also very rewarding; you will be expected to deliver small group sessions to pupils as well as managing their behaviour the classroom.
Roles vary from ad-hoc daily cover to longer term positions, although this could lead to something more long-term in future, dependent upon the schools need. The successful candidate would need to be available to start as soon as possible, when schools return.
We appreciate the uncertainty of the current situation, but we are continuing to recruit on behalf of our schools during this period. RESPONSIBILITIESBeing willing and able to work with pupils from EYFS all the way to KS2, managing behaviour in line with school policiesLiaising with class Teachers to ensure the classroom is a fun, safe learning environment for all childrenEngaging with the pupils and keeping them on task, assisting with queries where possibleDealing with any immediate issues or emergencies according to the school policies and procedures
REQUIREMENTSExperience of working with Primary age children, which can be referenced (voluntary work included)An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS) - we can help with this!A flexible, punctual, professional and approachable mannerThe ability to establish rapport quickly with children whilst maintaining a high standard of control and disciplineA degree qualification or a qualification in teaching and learning support (advantageous, not essential)
