Long term: Teaching Assistants 6 months - 1 year

An SEN school is seeking proactive and motivational Learning Support Assistants to support and work with students who have Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The age range of the students is 4-19 years old who would require support gaining access to new life skills and educational experiences.

You will be part of an expansive team, whose aim is provide an easy transition into the school using an individualised programme devised for that student alone. Your part would be to work with the teachers and other staff to provide invaluable experience to the students to aide them to achieve their true potential for staying in education, training or employment.

Your role will include:
* Assisting with whole class teaching (classes are very small 3-6 students) or on a 1:1 basis
* Liaising with the teacher to make sure the required lesson is being taught as per curriculum
* Liaise with the teacher regarding behaviour
* To work using your own initiative
* Acceptance of any training that would benefit your within the role

Key skills and experience needed
* One years' experience working within an SEN environment is required
* Motivation and passion for working with young people with Severe Learning Difficulties or Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties
* To be able to encourage and motivate young people to reach their potential within the learning environment
* Patience and understanding of individual needs
* Willingness to develop an understanding of students' needs and behaviours
