job description

About the Client

A global leader in commercial property management, with almost 50,000 employees worldwide, including an office in Manchester. This client manages everything from your local retail park to some of the UK's most iconic commercial office buildings.

About the Role

The Technical Services Manager role will be based in the heart of Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious CIBSE member to drive their career forward with a market leader.

The Technical Services Manager will provide an expert M&E offering to a host of clients. Duties will include engineering site surveys, life cycle reports and M&E safety audits. The Technical Services Manager will also give expert advice based on industry regulations and ensure that clients and the company are working in line with local authority and statutory body requirements.

Internally, you will help to guide the UK Facilities Management team on best practice. Your expert M&E knowledge will assist the building surveyors and Director in achieving high standards of performance delivery to clients.

Your knowledge will strengthen relationships between your new company and external stakeholders, such as tenants, clients, local authorities and maintenance sub-contractors.

This is not a sales role, but it is expected that the expert knowledge of the Technical Services Manager will encourage clients to choose the most encompassing Facilities Management service for their needs.

About You

This is a mobile role across Manchester and the North West, so a current UK driving license is required. You will be a CIBSE member and preferably hold an appropriate engineering degree qualification.

You will have good working knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services, including building controls and fire safety.

You will be commercially aware and enjoy taking a consultative approach with clients. This is not a sales role, but you will have a proven track record of identifying commercial opportunities and delivering upon them.

Ultimately, if you are able to assess the condition of a commercial building's M&E installations, devise a life cycle maintenance plan and advise on efficiency improvements and compliance issues, this is the job for you.

About the Package

Salary £50,000 - £55,000 plus car / car allowance, excellent pension scheme, medical care, life insurance and 25 days annual leave plus 8 public holidays.
