Town Planner

*£24 - 30 per hour* *East London* *Flexi working available* *Long term contract*

Are you an experienced Town Planner looking for your next role? Our client are an outer London borough who are currently looking to appoint a Planning Officer to work in their Development Management team. The borough is currently experiencing alot of development so this is an exciting role for someone looking to take on a new challenge. The role is initially on a 6 month contract with further extensions extremely likely.

You will be dealing with a caseload of applications, which will predominately include householders and small scale applciations as well as oordinating negotiations in pre-application discussions including managing the charging position for relevant pre-application arrangements and negotiating with applicants planning performance and similar agreements

You will be expected to give senior level professional , technical and operational advice to other staff and support them in their learning, through training sessions where appropriate

Ideally you will have at least 1 years Planning experience with a UK authority although consideration will be given to applicants with non UK experience who can demonstrate the required skills.
