Export Trading Assistant - Junior Account Manager

Manchester - Trafford Park

Up to £25,000

Monday to Friday

As the Export Trading Assistant you will be joining one of Europe's leading suppliers of branded wholesale fragrances. You will be based in an open plan fast paced office environment in Trafford Park where everyone is driven by the desire to exceed the expectations of our customers and brand partners.

This is an amazing role for someone who wants to progress through the retail ranks and move into an Account Manager role. Whilst working as an Export Trading Assistant you will also learning every aspect around merchandising, purchasing, pricing, trade and export.

Due to the fact you will be working closely with the Export Sales Manager, you will be learning from the best whilst also having the opportunity to travel and work at the trade shows in Las Vegas, Dubai, Cannes and so on.

Your responsibilities:

* Managing the relationships with a portfolio of export customers.
* Manage and ensure that the sales process runs smoothly from beginning to end.
* Assist the Export Sales Manager with day to day account management across a broad export customer portfolio.
* Administration and daily trades for all customer accounts
* Use Excel - V lookups knowledge is a must
* Analyze and review internal reports and identify any trends/issues through their own initiative
* Keep track of all negotiations and prices agreed by emails or meetings.
* Have a keen eye for detail
* Highlight any errors spotted
* Build and maintain strong communication with the Buyers in order to keep updated of any changes in stock, orders, delivery and any other matters.
* Communicate product and pricing details clearly and correctly.
* Coordinate with other internal departments to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our goods and services according to customer needs.
* Keep up to date and check that sales orders are correct in all systems and process documents.
* Review and process orders as per requested and update systems and process accordingly.
* Create range plans and work with the merchandising team to update customer forecast accordingly.
* Identify needs and opportunities and suggest to the Export Sales Manager.
* Be in constant contact with the Buying team regarding stock deliveries, forecast and stock availability.
* Request samples and packaging information needed from the warehouse when new line forms are needed.
* Check that all sales orders have been picked and delivered 100%. If the order is short or going to be sent short, investigate why, liaising with the buying team and informing the Buyer in advance to any orders being shipped.
* Track sales and report sales figures each week.
* Prepare sales reports from each account accordingly (previous weeks / months sales, turnover etc.)
* Assist with miscellaneous tasks to support senior account manager.

The ideal candidate:

* Has at least +1 years' experience in a similar role e.g. Head Office Merchandising, Buying, Sales, resource in high level Recruitment
* Have the ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organisation.
* MS Office (in particular MS Excel & Power Point).
* Have the ability to manage multiple account management projects at a time whilst paying strict attention to detail.
* Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills with a problem solving attitude.
* Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
* Pro-active and uses their own initiative is a must.
* Good commercial and numerical skills.
* Excellent attention to detail, accurate, with the ability to spot future opportunities.
* A motivated team player.
* Strong written and oral communication skills.
* Not be afraid to vocalese ideas and suggestions for improvement
* Wants to gain further experience in account management.
* Able to communicate at different levels and with foreign buyers.
* Can work to deadlines and works well under pressure.
* Can organise and priorities.
