Traffic Management Contracts Manager

Salford

£30,000 -£40,000 + Package (Dependent on experience)

Role Overview

Full responsibility for traffic management on major projects from contract award, site set up, completion and handover; ensuring the traffic management is delivered safely, to programme, budget and quality.

Key Responsibilities



* Support the bid process in terms of providing technical support, developing the tender programme, to enable the Company to submit competitive tenders.
* Attend and support tender finalisation process to provide production input to mitigate risk.
* Provide the direction and leadership to a multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of traffic management schemes to major projects.
* Commit to the highest standards of quality, safety and client satisfaction.
* Organise and direct the marshalling of resources for the overall control and delivery of traffic management schemes.
* Establish and maintain commercial and financial controls to meet the contractual requirements of the project.
* Agree programmes and methods of production, ensuring method statements and risk assessments are in place and fit for purpose.
* Ensure that key dates, resource requirements, production rates, overhead targets etc., are established, monitored and controlled.
* Ensure that proper routines and disciplines are established and followed for the safety, security and continuous supervision of personnel, materials, property and equipment.
* Ensure the major projects division retains sufficient staff and operatives that are suitably qualified and capable of discharging their duties effectively and safely.
* Deal with any performance issues in accordance with company procedures.
* Carry out annual PDRs, identifying and developing career and succession structures to sustain major projects, going forward
* The selection of sub-contractors to carry out the works and placing of sub-contracts, where appropriate
* Monitor project performance against the business plan and record through monthly board papers.

Experience and Qualifications:



* Previous experience in a similar role with a major traffic management contractor
* Relevant traffic management, Health and Safety qualifications
* Excellent Excel and IT skills
* Good management skills with strong personality who can persuade and motivate others, with the ability to lead
* Strong communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
* Good organisational skills / ability to work to tight deadlines
* CSCS Lantra Gold Card (preferable) or CSCS Supervisor/Manager Card
* Health & Safety Training
* Lantra Sector Scheme 12a,12b & 12d
* A.D or CONE 9/10
