Trainee Planning Enforcment Officer
£21.45 per hour* *Central London*
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Planning Enforcement Officer based in a Local Authority in Central London.
3 months - possibility for extension
The main purpose of the role is as following:To be responsible for the processing of Development Management enforcement matters including responsibility for site inspections, obtaining evidence, compliance checking, handling of advice and negotiations, and dealing with related planning application work and appeals as relevantTo work in conjunction colleagues to ensure that statutory and legal obligations are delivered and communicated in a customer - focussed manner, optimising available resourcesTo be accountable to the Planning Enforcement Manager for achieving agreed service outcomes and personal appraisal targets which uphold the Council's Core values and meet the challenges of Best Value and Comprehensive Performance Assessment
RequirementsA degree in planning or other appropriate professional qualification and a member of the RTPI or eligible for or working toward full membership
Ability to promote and implement equal opportunities in accordance with Council guidelines
A good understanding of planning legislationKnowledge of planning issues as they affect the inner city
