The school supports children from 4 to 19years old with a variety of emotional, social and behavioural difficulties. The children are offered an individualised curriculum, alongside onsite therapy sessions and a range of key life skills and learning opportunities led by the dedicated teams.
The Trainee SEN Teacher position is perfect for someone who has experience working with vulnerable children and is looking to develop their skills and knowledge, whilst working in a positive environment with an engaging, supportive team.

Your role would include:
-Working 1 to 1 with pupils in a small class setting, to provide behaviourally based instructions for pupils to meet their full potential
-Contributing to the production, organisation and maintenance of individualised teaching materials
-Support pupils with their social and emotional development through interaction and engagement
-Supervising indoor/outdoor playtime for all pupils
-Assist in extra-curricular and off-site activities with pupils during school hours
-Encourage and assist pupils to maintain acceptable levels of personal and environmental hygiene
-Developing knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and associated disabilities
Key Skills required:
-Minimum Grade C or equivalent, in English Language & Maths
-Experience of working with children and/or young adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
-An understanding and personal commitment to safeguarding
-Able to perform tasks of a physical nature
-Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
-A positive and resilient attitude
-Early Years qualified is desirable
-Own means of transport
