job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of trades/operations, reviewing quality of work and progress. The will ensure safe working conditions, ensuring materials are available and monitored and stored correctly, to avoid delay to the project.

Knowledge skills & experience



* City & Guilds in a building or civil engineering trade; Desirable
* Site Management Safety training scheme (CITB 5 day / Level 3);
* CIOB Site Management Certificate; Desirable
* Trades Experience; Essential
* Sets high standards in safety and quality; Essential
* A background of working on site in relevant trades or supervisory positions sufficient to give an in depth understanding of work stream processes which the individual is responsible for supervising;
* Past experience of successfully delivering high value (>£45m plus) projects; Essential
* Past/previous experience of multi-storey residential projects i.e. Apartments and or student accommodation. Essential

Role



* Responsible for all aspects of site operations and the performance of site engineers;
* Directly supervise site engineers and specialist subcontractors;
* Continuously monitor trades, under their control, to ensure all safety requirements are met and the site cleanliness is maintained;
* Ensure labour resources on site matches programmed/planned labour requirements;
* Monitor and record progress of the works and assist in/or prepare programmes for site activities;
* To direct any instruction from the clients representative to the Site Manager before taking action;
* Ensure that the Constructions Divisions Safety Policy and its requirements are complied with and to ensure that the site team are all aware of their responsibilities in respect of safe working practices;
* Ensure all H&S procedures are complied with by all individuals on site;
* Take responsibility for ensuring safe use and correct utilisation of any items used by site operatives;
* To support and be familiar with own role and responsibility in respect of Business Continuity Planning. Ensure that team members are also aware of the plans and communicates same.
