Head office experts

Our Shared Service Centre is soon to be based in sophisticated new offices in the prestigious Capability Green, Luton. It's home to our Finance, HR, IT, Marketing and Legal teams. These experts are the cogs that work in the background to ensure everything runs smoothly for our operational business. It can be fast-paced and high pressure but the promotions, benefits and rewards make it more than worthwhile. We aim for 80% of all our internal appointments to be made via promotions.    

We like to kick-start our day with a Costa Coffee in our very own Clipper Cafe before heading to our desks or one of our meeting zones or hot desk areas. Outside of office hours, we like to celebrate our success and achievements. For the last two years our festive party has been held at the five-star Luton Hoo. We do everything in style. 

Finance

The finance team are responsible for management accounting, cash management, credit service, pay & bill and purchase ledger for all of our stakeholders. Everything we do is time sensitive and attention to detail is a must. It’s not just about being good with figures - great communication and people skills help our finance team members excel in their career.

Here's what we do:

  • Management accounting and commercial finance – this team combines accounting, finance and management with the world league finance practices needed to drive a successful business.
  • Cash management structure – understanding and reporting our cash flow is a key task within the team. The team is responsible for managing our bank accounts, liaising with account managers and ensuring we remain a leader in the use of banking technology.
  • Credit services – Randstad has thousands of clients, from SMEs to corporate giants. This team ensures our clients adhere to our terms of business and interact closely with our branches across the UK to provide an exceptional service.
  • Purchase ledger – processing some 20,000 invoices per annum for a large and varied client base. The online expenses system we operate supports a corporate staff base of over 1,000 employees.
  • Pay & bill – this team processes and pays thousands of flexible workers every week, producing thousands of invoices for our clients. We run a monthly corporate payroll for a team of 1,500 individuals who are located across the UK.

HR

We are a team made up of HR business partners, learning & development experts and talent acquisition experts. It’s all about attracting the right people, supporting them in their role, retaining them and giving them best-in-class training.

  • Talent Acquisition – ensuring that the talent acquisition process is robust, effective and in line with the business needs, whilst working with the management team to source and fulfil their internal recruitment needs with high calibre applicants.
  • Learning & Development - responsible for building the capability and confidence of our employees through the design and delivery of coaching and programmes

IT

We are the technical team who are tasked with developing, enhancing and supporting all operational and head office business systems. We tackle everything from data and voice networks to compliance and governance for IT security. Service delivery and customer support is at the top of our agenda, so we're always eager to welcome team members with strong communication and strong customer service skills.

We are a team that uses our IT skills in the following ways:

  • Empowering all our business lines through the provision of IT training and system support

Legal & Compliance

implementing the processes that ensure all our business lines remain legal, ethical and competitive. Safeguarding is at the heart of our working day.

We are Legal

Provides legal and commercial support, advice and implementation of policy across all activities and business lines. It is made up of legal experts in insurance, intellectual property and company secretarial matter. They are primarily responsible for reviewing contracts and resolving contractual matters and disputes. However, we are also regularly called on to engage in face-to-face negotiation with clients and to attend Courts and Tribunals to represent the company.

We are Compliance

Provides guidance to our business lines, implementing policies and processes to safeguard our business against reputational or financial risk. The team has specialists in internal auditing, process and procedure writing. They are also responsible for query resolution, document verification and the processing of criminal check requests across all our business lines.

Marketing

We manage the creative expression, in words, images and video of the business, to help take it to market as effectively as possible. We're made up of twenty like-minded spirits currently, working in an agency style way - with each business unit within the group
being treated as if an external client. We're a commercial team, so we value industry insight, number crunching and ROI as much as creativity.

We are a team made up of:

  • Marketing Business Partners (MBP) – MBPs act in an account manager capacity and work closely with their operational teams to drive and measure marketing activity
  • Digital – a team of experts manage Randstad’s website, social media, SEO, e-mail activity and reporting 
  • Communications and Content – this team consist of PR, internal communications, content and design experts.
