This is a full time role to work within the 13+ Children Looked After Teams .
This involves primarily working with young people aged 13 years and above who are subject to Full Care Orders or S 20 arrangements.
You will have experience of working with Children looked After and have a good understating of your statutory responsibilities.
You will have experience of working with Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking children (UASCs) and have experience of completing Brief enquiries and Age assessments.
Responsibilities -
You will conduct comprehensive assessments of children and young people in care to identify their needs and create individualised care plans. Regularly reviewing and updating care plans to reflect the changing needs and circumstances of the children and young people will be essential.
Building positive and trusting relationships with children and young people in care is crucial. You will provide emotional and practical support, ensuring their voices are heard and considered in all decisions affecting them.
Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, educators, and law enforcement, you will ensure holistic support for the child. You will liaise with birth families, foster carers, and other caregivers to facilitate effective communication and support.
Identifying and responding to any safeguarding concerns is paramount, ensuring the safety and welfare of children and young people. You will adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and legal frameworks related to child protection and safeguarding.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions and interventions with children, young people, and their families is necessary. You will prepare and present reports for court proceedings, reviews, and other formal meetings as required.
Advocating on behalf of children and young people is essential, ensuring their rights and best interests are represented. You will support children and young people in understanding their rights and navigating the care system.
