Mechanical Design Engieer - Peterborough

Exciting opportunity for a design engineer to join the mechanical design team and take charge of designing and implementing engine test equipment at our Europe Research and Development Centre. In this role, you'll design various components and assemblies, such as engine rigging systems, mechanical systems, driveline components, and unique test rigs. We're looking for someone with a proactive attitude, committed to resolving issues promptly while upholding high-quality standards and possessing excellent communication skills. Proficiency in solid modelling (CREO), detailed drawing, and geometric tolerancing is essential, along with a thorough understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilising CAD to design components and assemblies.
- Completing drawings for individual components and groups.
- Conducting design calculations and analysis.
- Leading technical projects.
Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
- A degree in engineering with a mechanical focus or equivalent.
- Prior experience using Creo CAD and Teamcenter.
- Knowledge of geometric tolerancing.
- Ability to interpret detailed drawings and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong team player with the capability to engage with all levels of the organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting technical information effectively.
- Flexibility and the ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.
- Sound understanding of Diesel Engines.
Additiiona skills and experience:
- Previous experience in engine test facilities.
- Familiarity with FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
