This exciting opportunity is for a long-term position starting ASAP until the Summer. The pay rate is £130-£210 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
- Demonstrated passion for and expertise in science education, with a strong subject knowledge across key scientific disciplines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work part-time hours on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, starting ASAP and continuing until the end of the summer term.
- Previous experience teaching science at the secondary level is advantageous but not essential.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging science lessons tailored to the needs and interests of secondary students, igniting their curiosity and nurturing their scientific inquiry skills.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel empowered to ask questions, explore concepts, and think critically about scientific phenomena.
- Utilise a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and technologies to enhance student understanding and engagement in science.
- Assess student progress through ongoing formative assessment and summative evaluation, providing timely feedback to support their learning journey.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular connections and promote interdisciplinary approaches to science education.
- Uphold the school's values and policies, fostering a positive and respectful classroom culture that celebrates diversity and promotes academic excellence.
