We're currently seeking a motivated Teaching Assistant for ad hoc work in Blackpool. We're looking for someone capable of providing support wherever needed, whether it's general duties such as register, reading and writing with small groups, break and lunchtime support, journals, preparing activities and resources, and assisting the teacher as required, or supporting small groups of pupils with additional needs, including extra support with lesson content or working with 1:1 pupils. Your Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:
- Collaborate with children individually or in small groups to enhance their learning.
- Serve as a positive role model for both students and colleagues.
- Foster positive relationships with children and their families.
- Collaborate with fellow staff members, including specialists.
- Assist the class teacher in resource preparation and activity setup.
Responsibilities:
- Help prepare a lesson and tidy the classroom afterwards
- Provide assistance with lesson plans
- Support children across the curriculum
- Give extra support to children with special needs
- Help mark work
- Report student progress
- Help look after the children during school trips and activities
- Look after children that are unwell
- Attend meetings
- Confidence in guiding individuals or small groups.
- A positive attitude and effective communication skills.
Essential requirements:
- Experience working with young people
- Class management skills
- Comfortable managing challenging behaviour
- Able to engage with and motivate children
- TA Qualified
