methodology: how we gathered insights.
Mumsnet conducted an online survey on behalf of Randstad to explore the experiences of working parents, with a focus on working mothers. The survey, open from 20th January to 6th February 2025, gathered responses from 1,000 working parents—956 mums and 44 dads (for comparison where relevant).
Alongside the survey, Mumsnet analysed forum discussions from the past five years (6th February 2020 to 6th February 2025) about working parents’ experiences. The analysis prioritised recent conversations to provide the most up-to-date insights.
