Requirements
- Professional qualification in Speech and Language Therapy recognised by the RCSLT.
- Current licence to practise and active membership with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
- A current full driving licence valid for use in the UK and access to a car on appointment
- Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting / compliance checks including an Enhanced Access NI check due to the nature of this work, this may include a Barred List check for both Children & Vulnerable Adults (depending on the role)
- Knowledge of the Northern Ireland curriculum and an understanding of how communication difficulties impact a pupil's ability to access it.
Responsibilities
- Manage the assessment, diagnosis, and clinical prioritisation of children with a broad range of needs, including ASD, complex disorders, and Developmental Language Disorder.
- Promote a strong inter-agency approach by working closely with education professionals, parents, and carers.
- Maintain responsibility for the administrative side of service delivery, including succinct clinical record-keeping and the maintenance of clinical spreadsheets.
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate training for parents, teachers, and classroom assistants to ensure communication-supportive environments that maximise learning opportunities.
- Participate in clinical audits, peer reviews, and Personal and Public Involvement (PPI) initiatives to assist in the evaluation and development of the service.
- Adhere to Trust policies, RCSLT professional standards, and Information Governance procedures at all times.
