Key Responsibilities
As a 1:1 Support Assistant, you'll provide crucial, tailored support to a child with special educational needs. Your main duties will include:
Individualized Support: Provide one-on-one assistance both in the classroom and during break times.
Behavior Management: Consistently and positively implement behavior strategies to help the child with self-regulation.
Learning Facilitation: Adapt learning materials under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
Social & Emotional Development: Foster social skills, emotional literacy, and independence.
Collaboration: Liaise regularly with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach.
Progress Monitoring: Observe, record, and provide feedback on the child's progress.
Safety & Well-being: Ensure the child's safety and well-being at all times.
Essential Requirements
You must be an outgoing individual who can engage with pupils and make learning fun.
A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is essential.
An understanding of special educational needs.
The ability to work collaboratively and competently within a team.
