We are seeking a proactive support professional for a highly regarded community primary school located in a desirable area of Staffordshire, near Lichfield. Roles & Responsibilities
The successful Teaching Assistant will play a vital role in classroom support and pupil well-being:
Pastoral Care: Provide essential emotional and social support to vulnerable pupils and those transitioning between activities or lessons.
Interventions: Lead focused intervention groups, delivering structured programmes in reading, phonics, and basic numeracy as directed by the Class Teacher.
SEN Support: Work closely with the SENCo to deliver individualised learning plans for pupils with specific learning difficulties or complex needs.
Break Time Duty: Supervise pupils during break times and lunchtimes, ensuring safety and encouraging positive, inclusive play and behaviour.
Resource Organisation: Assist with the efficient organisation of shared learning resources, ensuring materials are readily available and tidy for lesson delivery.
Administrative Tasks: Carry out necessary photocopying, binding, and display preparation to support the teacher's workflow and presentation standards.
Requirements
The school expects applicants to demonstrate the following:
Qualification: NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or a recognised equivalent) is essential.
Experience: Previous experience working effectively with children across Key Stage 1 and 2 in a UK primary school.
Skills: Exceptional teamwork skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
Communication: Professional and clear verbal communication suitable for liaising with parents and external agencies.
Compliance: Must be willing to apply for or possess a current Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service.
