The Role: Art Teacher
As the Art Teacher, you will be instrumental in delivering an inspiring curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4 (GCSE), and potentially Key Stage 5 (A-Level). You will guide students through the processes of drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and digital art, helping them develop both technical proficiency and critical appreciation of art history and culture.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, practical Art lessons that cater to all abilities and encourage creative risk-taking.
- Teach diverse artistic techniques and mediums, including 2D and 3D work, ensuring safe and correct use of equipment and materials.
- Assess, record, and report on student progress and artistic development, providing insightful feedback for portfolio building.
- Maintain and organise a stimulating and safe classroom/studio environment, showcasing student work effectively.
- Contribute to the development of schemes of work, resources, and departmental displays.
- Participate in extracurricular activities such as Art clubs, gallery visits, and organising school exhibitions.
- Provide guidance and support to students in preparing their coursework and final examination components.
What We're Looking For:
We are seeking an inspirational artist-educator who is passionate about their craft and dedicated to nurturing creativity in young people.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualifications.
- A degree in Art, Fine Art, Design, or a closely related visual arts discipline.
- Proven ability to teach Art effectively across the secondary age range (KS3 and KS4 required; KS5 highly desirable).
- Expertise in a broad range of artistic techniques and a commitment to utilising new technologies in art.
- Excellent organisational and classroom management skills, particularly concerning the safe use of materials.
- A commitment to celebrating diversity and representing global art movements within the curriculum.
- The desire to be an active, collaborative member of a thriving department and wider school community.
