Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Newcastle Team

Position Overview: As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in supporting the Quantity Surveying team in various aspects of cost management and procurement. You will have the opportunity to work on exciting residential projects and gain valuable experience within a renowned national house builder.
Location: North East, UK
Salary: £25-35,00- per annum (depending one experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and submission of tender documents, budgets, and cost estimates.
- Support the Quantity Surveying team in conducting cost analysis and feasibility studies for upcoming projects.
- Assist in the procurement process, including obtaining quotes, negotiating prices, and selecting subcontractors and suppliers.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered within budgetary constraints.
- Assist in the preparation of interim valuations, cost reports, and financial forecasts.
- Assist in the management of subcontractor accounts, including issuing payments and resolving disputes.
- Maintain accurate records of project costs and expenditures.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry is desirable but not essential.
- Experience using the COINS system is preferred
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and familiarity with relevant software applications.
- A proactive and self-motivated attitude, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes is advantageous.
