Due to the increased demands across Addiction Services, Randstad are keen to recruit an experienced Social Worker who will become an integral part of an experienced Social Care team providing invaluable support to senior Social Workers and management teams in the delivery & provision of efficient and effective services that addresses the needs of drug and poly-drug users, using a harm reduction approach.

Requirements
- NISCC Registration Essential
- Qualified social worker
- Enhanced Access NI cleared
- At least two years' experiences of mental health/addictions.
- Previous experience of outreach work in an Adults/Youth, community, drugs or mental health setting.
- Willingness to undergo an Occupational Health check including submission of immunisation records as required
- Valid UK Driving licence essential
- Effective communicator
- Ability to prioritise and manage a varied caseload
- Ability to build rapport with parents, young people & social care professionals
Job Summary / Main Purpose:
- Provide skilled, evidence-based harm reduction interventions to drug and poly-drug users through an Outreach Model.
- Conduct timely assessments and establish positive working relationships with at-risk groups to divert and reduce harm.
- Manage an outreach equipment exchange service and support users until stability is achieved.
- Monitor health, social, housing, and employment needs, linking with relevant agencies and family members.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of drug developments, sexual health, blood-borne viruses, and opiate substitution/detoxification.
- Educate on harm reduction, prevent infectious diseases, and reduce stigma within communities.
- Establish and maintain pathways with healthcare professionals, criminal justice services, and other drug/counselling agencies in Belfast.
- Undertake administrative tasks, compile reports, attend meetings, supervision, and training as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the collation and reporting of monitoring tools and data.
- Participate in research and undertake projects.
- Provide accurate written records, reports, and statistical data, and perform administration tasks.
- Adhere to Mental Health (NI) Order 1986 and Trust policies (e.g., complaints, vulnerable adults, risk assessment, H&S).
- Liaise and develop networks with teams, professionals, statutory/voluntary agencies, families, and community groups.
