Monmouthshire County Council is seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to help maintain a clean, safe and well-functioning facility at Raglan Depot. You'll play a key role in supporting day-to-day site operations through cleaning, basic maintenance, and site safety checks.
Open and secure the site daily
Clean offices, toilets, and shared areas
Perform minor repairs (bulbs, fittings, plumbing)
Conduct fire safety and health checks
Manage supplies and accept deliveries
Keep outdoor areas tidy and safe
Support occasional room setups and urgent cleans
Follow Council policies and uphold site safety
Maintain tidiness of external areas and support snow/grit clearance.
Assist with emergency cleans or urgent site access when needed.
Support staff with room setups and general premises requests.
Maintain and store cleaning equipment safely.
Experience in cleaning, maintenance or similar work
Able to work on your own and as part of a team
Basic understanding of site security and safety
Punctual, organised, and practical
Desirable:
COSHH knowledge or experience in public buildings
Willingness to learn Welsh (training available)
Consistent weekday hours and paid leave
Training and development support
A respectful and community-focused workplace
An Enhanced DBS (Children's Barred List) is required. You may occasionally support other Council sites if needed.
