The Role: Chemistry Teacher
We are seeking a teacher who can ignite a passion for Chemistry, developing both conceptual understanding and practical skills in students from Key Stage 3 (Ages 11-14) up through the highest examination levels.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and intellectually challenging Chemistry lessons across all age groups, including advanced level courses (e.g., A-Level, IB, or equivalent).
- Supervise and lead practical laboratory sessions safely and effectively, ensuring students develop strong investigative and analytical skills.
- Assess student progress meticulously using a variety of methods and provide targeted, constructive feedback to drive improvement.
- Contribute proactively to the development of the Chemistry curriculum, teaching methodologies, and departmental resource materials.
- Provide academic coaching and mentorship to students, including supporting those with university applications for STEM courses.
- Maintain the highest safety standards in the laboratory and ensure all students follow established protocols.
- Participate in extra-curricular science activities, such as clubs, outreach programmes, or competitions, to enrich the student experience.
What We're Looking For
We require a teacher who is an expert subject specialist and a dynamic classroom practitioner committed to the academic success and personal development of every student.
- A degree in Chemistry or a closely related chemical science field.
- A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
- Proven experience teaching Chemistry to a high standard, ideally up to A-Level or IB.
- Excellent practical laboratory skills and a strong commitment to teaching through experimentation.
- A deep and current knowledge of curriculum content and pedagogical approaches in Chemistry education.
- The ability to inspire confidence and curiosity in students regarding complex chemical principles.
- A flexible, organized approach with a genuine desire to collaborate with colleagues across the Science department.
