Roles & Responsibilities
The successful Teaching Assistant will be expected to:
Individualised Support: Provide intensive 1:1 assistance to pupils requiring additional support, ensuring learning targets specified in their Individual Education Plans (IEPs) are met.
Resource Management: Proactively prepare specialised resources for various subjects to ensure accessibility for all learners.
Data Input: Assist the Class Teacher with the input and filing of assessment data and behaviour logs, ensuring accurate record keeping.
Lunchtime Supervision: Provide supervisory cover during lunchtimes and play periods, facilitating organised activities and managing pupil conflict resolution.
Team Collaboration: Participate in staff meetings and training sessions, contributing constructively to discussions regarding pupil progress and school improvement initiatives.
Requirements
The school expects applicants to meet the following criteria:
Qualification: Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent relevant education experience is required.
Experience: Previous experience working within a primary school environment, particularly with pupils in Key Stage 2.
SEN Familiarity: Familiarity with common SEN documentation (e.g., EHCPs or IEPs) and strategies for supporting them.
Organisation: Exceptional organisational skills and proven reliability, demonstrating a high degree of professionalism.
Compliance: Must be willing to apply for or possess a current Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service.
