Cover Supervisors- Bootle
We are urgently seeking enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to join our secondary school teams across the Bootle area. This is an ideal flexible role for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced education support staff looking to gain classroom experience and enjoy a strong work-life balance.
Daily Rate: £90 - £95 per day

You will be placed at a number of our partner secondary schools in the Bootle area.
- Borough: Metropolitan Borough of Sefton.
- Postcodes: L20 (Bootle, Orrell) and L30 (Bootle, Netherton).
Duties:
As a Cover Supervisor, your main role is to maintain educational continuity and manage the classroom effectively during the short-term absence of the class teacher. You will not be required to actively teach, plan lessons, or mark work.
- Classroom Management: Supervise the class and maintain a safe, positive, and orderly learning environment, managing behaviour according to the school's policy.
- Lesson Delivery: Deliver the pre-prepared lesson materials left by the class teacher, explaining the tasks and providing general guidance as needed.
- Administration: Take the daily attendance register accurately and distribute and collect completed work at the end of the lesson, returning it to the teacher.
- Feedback & Reporting: Provide feedback to the returning teacher on student behaviour, progress, and any issues that arose during the lesson.
- Safeguarding: Uphold school policies and procedures related to child protection, health, and safety, reporting all concerns to the appropriate staff member.
- Wider Duties: May be required to supervise students during break/lunchtimes or assist with other support duties.
Essential Requirements & Skills:
- Classroom Presence: A confident and commanding presence to effectively manage classroom dynamics and keep students focused.
- Adaptability & Resilience: The ability to quickly adjust to different subjects, age groups, and school environments, managing challenging situations with professionalism.
- Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Organisation: Excellent organisational skills to prioritise workload and manage conflicting demands.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) is required for all school work.
