Cover Supervisor - Secondary School
Rate: £110 - £120 per day

We are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to support a variety of Secondary Schools, including high-achieving academies and traditional grammar schools, across Chelmsford.
This position is an excellent fit for graduates, sports coaches, or those considering a career in teaching who want to build their classroom confidence in a city known for its educational excellence.
Your primary focus is to step into the classroom and lead lessons that have already been prepared by the department. You aren't required to be a subject expert; you just need to be a strong, supportive leader.
- Supervision: Ensure students are working safely and effectively on their assigned tasks.
- Behaviour Management: Use the school's policy to maintain a calm and focused atmosphere.
- Guidance: Answer student queries and encourage them to complete their work to the best of their ability.
- Collaboration: Work alongside school staff to ensure the school day runs smoothly.
Requirements
- Background: Experience working with groups of young people (11-18) is highly desirable (e.g., coaching, tutoring, or youth work).
- Communication: Strong verbal communication and the ability to project authority in a classroom.
- Flexibility: A "can-do" attitude and the ability to adapt to different subject areas throughout the day.
- Clearance: An enhanced DBS on the Update Service is essential (or a willingness to apply for one).
- Location: Ideally based in Chelmsford or willing to travel to the city center and surrounding areas.
