Cover Supervisors- Crosby
We are looking for motivated and resilient Cover Supervisors to join our secondary schools across the sought-after Crosby area. This vital role ensures a seamless and structured learning experience for students during staff absences, offering fantastic experience for those interested in education.
Daily Rate: £90 - £95 per day
Location:
You will be placed at a number of our partner schools in the Crosby area.
- Borough: Metropolitan Borough of Sefton.
- Postcodes: L23 (Crosby, Blundellsands, Waterloo area).
Duties:
As a Cover Supervisor, your main role is to maintain educational continuity and manage the classroom effectively during the short-term absence of the class teacher. You will not be required to actively teach, plan lessons, or mark work.
- Classroom Management: Supervise the class and maintain a safe, positive, and orderly learning environment, managing behaviour according to the school's policy.
- Lesson Delivery: Deliver the pre-prepared lesson materials left by the class teacher, explaining the tasks and providing general guidance as needed.
- Administration: Take the daily attendance register accurately and distribute and collect completed work at the end of the lesson, returning it to the teacher.
- Feedback & Reporting: Provide feedback to the returning teacher on student behaviour, progress, and any issues that arose during the lesson.
- Safeguarding: Uphold school policies and procedures related to child protection, health, and safety, reporting all concerns to the appropriate staff member.
- Wider Duties: May be required to supervise students during break/lunchtimes or assist with other support duties.
Essential Requirements & Skills:
- Classroom Presence: A confident and commanding presence to effectively manage classroom dynamics and keep students focused.
- Adaptability & Resilience: The ability to quickly adjust to different subjects, age groups, and school environments, managing challenging situations with professionalism.
- Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Organisation: Excellent organisational skills to prioritise workload and manage conflicting demands.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) is required for all school work.
