The Role: Cover Supervisor
The Cover Supervisor role is crucial for ensuring continuity of education across all year groups (Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4) and subjects. You will be responsible for supervising classes during short-term teacher absences, managing the classroom, and ensuring students remain engaged with pre-set work.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes across a wide range of subjects, ensuring students complete the work set by the absent teacher.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively and consistently, following the school's behaviour policy to maintain a positive and orderly learning environment.
- Explain tasks and instructions clearly to students and respond to basic questions they may have about the work.
- Gather completed work at the end of the lesson and return it to the appropriate department or teacher.
- Record and report any student issues or concerns regarding behaviour, attendance, or progress to the appropriate member of staff.
- Ensure the health and safety of students during the lesson, following all school procedures.
- Build positive working relationships with students and staff across the school.
What We're Looking For
We need an adaptable, confident individual who can quickly step into any classroom and lead.
- Experience working with secondary school-aged young people (ages 11-16) in any capacity is highly desirable.
- An energetic and authoritative presence with the ability to command respect and motivate large groups of students.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to think quickly and solve problems in a classroom setting.
- A degree or relevant qualification is preferred, but confidence and classroom management skills are key.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and a high standard of literacy and numeracy.
- A flexible and positive attitude with the willingness to cover any class or subject as required.
