We are seeking a confident, dedicated Cover Supervisor to join a thriving Secondary School in Bury St Edmunds. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about education and looking to gain invaluable experience working in a school setting.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning in the absence of teaching staff. You'll deliver pre-prepared lesson plans, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure students stay on task and engaged. This role is ideal for aspiring teachers, recent graduates, or experienced support staff ready to take the next step.
What we're looking for:
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- DBS on the update service
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to manage a classroom environment effectively
- A flexible, proactive, and resilient attitude
- Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential
Key Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor :
- Supervising students in the absence of their regular teacher, maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment.
- Implementing pre-prepared lessons and activities, ensuring students remain engaged and on task.
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively, promoting respectful interactions and a positive learning atmosphere.
- Collaborating with teaching staff, providing feedback on student progress and any classroom issues.
- Adapting to different teaching styles and subject matter, demonstrating flexibility and resourcefulness.
