Randstad is seeking a skilled and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join a respected Secondary School in Cambridge. This is a fantastic chance to become a vital part of a supportive school community, providing essential continuity for students in the absence of their regular teachers. This is a temporary position with the potential for long-term work, offering a great stepping stone into a career in education.
The Opportunity: What You'll Be Doing
- Supervising Pre-planned Lessons: You will be responsible for overseeing pre-prepared lessons and ensuring students remain on task and engaged with the work set by the absent teacher.
- Managing Classroom Behaviour: Maintain a positive, safe, and productive learning environment, applying the school's behavior policies effectively.
- Supporting Student Learning: Respond to student questions about processes and procedures and provide general support to help them complete their assigned work.
- Reporting Back: Provide clear and accurate feedback to the class teacher on student behavior and any issues that arose during the lesson.
- Upholding School Standards: Adhere to all school policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding and student welfare.
The Ideal Candidate: Who We're Looking For
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Child DBS on the update service
- You have experience working with young people, ideally in a school or educational setting.
- You possess strong communication and classroom management skills.
- You are adaptable, reliable, and have a proactive approach to work.
- A good level of education is required, with a desire to contribute positively to a school community.
- A commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.
