Are you a confident and flexible professional with experience managing classrooms? We are seeking enthusiastic and proactive individuals to join our team of Cover Supervisors for flexible, ad-hoc work across a network of supportive Secondary Schools, based initially in Rainham but with opportunities throughout Havering.
This is an ideal role for individuals seeking flexibility or varied experience before committing to a permanent teaching role.
The Role:
As an Ad-Hoc Cover Supervisor, you are responsible for maintaining a safe and purposeful learning environment during short-term teacher absences. You will be required to manage the classroom, ensure students complete pre-set work, and manage behaviour according to school policy.
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Management: Supervising classes across various subjects (KS3 & KS4) and motivating students to complete the work left by the absent teacher.
Behaviour Management: Effectively implementing the school's behaviour policy to maintain a positive and disciplined learning atmosphere.
Instruction: Providing basic guidance to students on pre-set tasks, but not required to plan or deliver curriculum content.
Safeguarding: Ensuring the safety and well-being of all students in your care and adhering to all safeguarding procedures.

Location: Primarily based in a Secondary School in Rainham, with frequent opportunities available across the entire Havering borough.
Schedule: Ad-Hoc / Day-to-Day Supply. Work is offered on an as-needed basis, providing maximum flexibility for your schedule.
Work Guarantee: Work is not guaranteed for every day, but a high volume of work is available across our network of schools in Havering.
Pay Rate: Highly competitive daily rates ranging from £95 to £120 per day, dependent on your experience and relevant qualifications. Paid via PAYE.
Candidate Requirements
Experience: Previous experience working with young people (aged 11-16), ideally in a classroom or structured setting (e.g., teaching assistant, youth worker, invigilator, or previous cover supervision).
Skills: Excellent communication, strong presence, and proven ability to manage and motivate groups of students effectively.
Flexibility: Must be reliable, highly flexible, and available for bookings with short notice (e.g., early morning calls).
Safeguarding: Commitment to adhering to all school policies and safeguarding protocols.
