We are working with a leading real estate development firm in Dubaim UAE. In the looks for a Design Director, The successful candidate will be a key leader in shaping the creative vision and design excellence of our large-scale master-planned communities and developments. This role requires a unique blend of high-level design expertise and practical construction and contractor experience to ensure our projects are not only aesthetically exceptional but also deliverable on time and within budget.
key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the entire design process from initial concept and feasibility studies to final delivery and handover.
Develop and articulate the design vision for all new master plan and development projects, ensuring alignment with the firm's strategic objectives.
Select, appoint, and manage a network of world-class external design and engineering consultants, ensuring their work meets our quality standards and project timelines.
Collaborate closely with internal project management, construction, and commercial teams to integrate design with technical and financial requirements.
Review and approve design submissions at all stages, providing expert guidance and ensuring compliance with local regulations and best practices.
Leverage contractor and on-site experience to anticipate and resolve potential design-to-build challenges before they impact project execution.
Present design concepts and project updates to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
Mentor and lead an internal team of designers, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and collaboration.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 15 years of experience in architecture, or a similar creative discipline, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or director-level role.
Demonstrable experience leading the design of large-scale, complex real estate developments.
Proven contractor experience or a strong, practical understanding of construction methods, buildability, and project delivery from an on-site perspective.
Extensive knowledge of the UAE market, including local regulations, construction practices, and design trends.
Exceptional design sensibility and a portfolio that demonstrates a track record of award-winning projects.
A Bachelor's degree in Architecture, a Master's degree is a plus.
