The Role: Secondary Design & Technology Specialist
We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and versatile Design & Technology Teacher to deliver inspiring lessons across Key Stage 3 (KS3), Key Stage 4 (GCSE), and potentially Key Stage 5 (A-Level). Experience teaching one or more D&T specialisms (e.g., Resistant Materials, Product Design, or Engineering) is highly desirable.

Core Roles and Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, project-based lessons that challenge students to follow the iterative design process (design, make, evaluate).
- Instruct and supervise students in the safe and proper use of a wide range of tools, equipment, and machinery in the workshop environment.
- Assess and moderate student coursework (Non-Exam Assessment - NEA) effectively, ensuring compliance with exam board standards.
- Manage and maintain a safe, organized, and highly effective workshop and classroom setting, including equipment checks and stock control.
- Collaborate actively with department colleagues on curriculum development, resource creation, and cross-curricular projects.
- Promote and champion creativity, ingenuity, and a high standard of craftsmanship across all student projects.
Candidate Profile: What We're Looking For
We need a proactive and skilled individual who is passionate about design, making, and the power of practical education.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a relevant degree in Design & Technology, Product Design, or Engineering.
- Demonstrable high level of technical skill and practical competence in a D&T specialism (e.g., Resistant Materials or Electronics).
- Proven experience of achieving excellent outcomes and maximising student progress at the GCSE or A-Level stage.
- Proficiency in using CAD/CAM software and machinery (e.g., 3D printing, laser cutting).
- A clear commitment to Health and Safety procedures within a workshop environment.
- Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to manage complex, long-term projects with students.
